2024 The Black Chook Chardonnay

WINEMAKING
Grapes were selected for harvest when berries displayed optimal flavour and intensity. This parcel was harvested in the cool of the evening and immediately crushed at the winery before the juice was cold settled then racked with light solids for fermentation. Post fermentation, the wine was lees stirred in tank before maturation in French oak to encourage mouthfeel and complexity.

THE WINE
Pale straw yellow with green highlights in colour, this wine opens with aromas of grapefruit blossom, stone fruits and subtle green almond notes. The palate is light to medium-bodied, with fresh Granny Smith acidity carrying lovely primary stone fruit flavours and a creamy texture.
